PRP and CGF

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP and plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) classified as the first generation of autologous platelet concentrates (APCs). PRP is a substance that’s thought to promote healing when injected. Plasma is a component of your blood that contains special “factors,” or proteins, that help your blood to clot. It also contains proteins that support cell growth. Researchers have produced PRP by isolating plasma from blood and concentrating it.

The idea is that injecting PRP into damaged tissues will stimulate your body to grow new, healthy cells and promote healing. Because the tissue growth factors are more concentrated in the prepared growth injections, researchers think the body’s tissues may heal faster.

In Dr Naeem’s Clinic, we inject PRP into skin and scalp to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss.

Concentrated growth factor (CGF)

CGF is a newer second-generation platelet concentrate that is prepared by centrifuging blood samples at alternating and controlled speeds using a special centrifuge. Differential centrifugation results in the formation of a denser fibrin matrix richer in growth factors than those observed in the PRP.

The use of CGF for skin and scalp injection provides better and more effective results than the use of PRP.
